Well, the babies are gone. I saw them yesterday, all robust and alert, and today they're gone. I'm assuming they were ready to "leave the nest" and are on their own- they were fully feathered and overfilling the nest. :( I'm sorry they're not there to observe still, but I suppose it was time for them to head out and make their own way. I hope to see them again, even if I don't know it's them. (Does that make sense?) On the upside, Rick was happy to be able to trim the hedge again!
