Weekday plans

We had the family over for dinner tonight.  Usually we do these sorts of things on the weekend, for obvious reasons, but since my parents just got back into town, we were anxious to get together!
Looking back over the evening, the 2 hours everyone was here was sort of a blur... but it was a good time.  Much food was consumed (Fettuccine Carbonara, warm foccacia, Asian coleslaw, Costco apple pie and cinnamon coffee cake) and some catching up was done; much more is on the horizon.

Mom brought LOTS of surprises for the kids, which included beautiful crepe paper flowered wreaths; perfect for little girls.  :)  Erika had a fine time prancing around and posing.

Everyone headed out early to make bedtimes and for some relaxing time to finish off the day.  Once Erika was off to bed, the dishwasher was loaded yet again and the pots set to soak; I found my husband holed up in his office:
Soaking his feet.  "Why don't you use this more often?" he asks. "The bubble setting is quite relaxing!" :)
Mr. "2nd place titan legs in high school" claims it's because of his inflamed ingrown toenail.  Uh-huh.  Riiiiiight.  Gotcha, baby!
